Candidates who have appeared or will appear for their class 12th exams in 2023, 2024, or 2025 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2025. It’s important for aspirants to meet these criteria, as failure to do so will result in disqualification from the exam. While there’s no age limit for candidates appearing in JEE Main 2025, they can attempt the exam for a maximum of three consecutive years.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria For NITs, IIITs, And CFTIs Admissions

To secure admission in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, students need to achieve a minimum of 75% in their 12th class for JEE Mains 2025 or be among the top 20 percentile in their class 12 exams (65% for SC/ST candidates).

Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch or B.Planning programs must have passed a 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board with the required qualification marks for JEE Mains, i.e., a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

JEE Main 2025 Subject Combinations for Admissions

For admission through JEE Main 2025 into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, specific subject combinations should be studied in Class 12th:

  • B.Tech/B.E: Physics and Maths as mandatory subjects along with one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subjects.

  • B.Arch: Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry subjects.

  • B.Planning: The candidate must have passed the qualifying exam with Maths subject.


The JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Droppers provides flexibility, allowing candidates to retake the exam without an age limit. They must have passed their class 12 exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025, with three consecutive attempts allowed. Mandatory qualifications include securing minimum marks for JEE Mains and studying at least five subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
