The JEE Main Session 2 results of the JEE Main Session 2 exam, which ended on July 30th, have been announced. The results of JEE Main Session 1 were announced on July 11th. Now that the JEE Main Session 2 results have been announced, the JEE Main 2022 JoSSA Counselling process will begin. JEE Main is a national-level exam administered by the NTA or National Testing Agency. JEE Main and JEE Advanced are the two main tests required for admission to engineering and architecture courses at NITs, IITs, and other participating institutions. Students who reach the cut-off mark are required to attend a JEE Core Counselling session.

Important Dates for the JEE Main 2022 Session 2 Exam:

Dates for JEE Main Counseling in 2022:

Prior to registering for the JEE Main online counselling, students must be aware of their results. To download the JEE, follow the instructions below.

  • Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in to access the NTA website.

  • Now enter your information, including your application number birth date, and the provided security code.

  • Once the information has been properly entered, choose the login option.

  • Your browser will open the results page.

  • You can print off a copy of your result sheet and check it.

As the JEE Main 2022 result will be needed for admissions and counselling, candidates should have multiple copies on hand.


JoSAA counselling Procedure:

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) is in charge of overseeing JEE Main counselling sessions. The JEE Main counselling will only be open to applicants who meet the cutoff scores for the JEE Main exam. Except for ISM and IITs, this counselling session is crucial for admission to NITs and other colleges.

It is anticipated that JEE Main 2022's online counselling would start in August 2022.


Online Counseling for JEE Main 2022:

Candidates must exercise caution when enrolling for the JEE Main counselling because even a minor carelessness or error could result in the withdrawal of their ticket. For the JEE Main counselling session, aspirants should therefore follow these instructions.


Step 1: The Registration Process:

Online registration for the counselling session is the initial step. This is crucial so that students can select the branches and colleges of their choosing. To sign up for the JEE Main counselling session, simply follow the instructions below:

  • Check out the NTA webpage.

  • Put in your roll number and password.

  • Choosing the Login button.

  • After carefully reading the instructions, select "I Agree" from the menu.

  • The screen will show the JoSAA Registration form.

  • Carefully fill out every field on the form.

  • Choose the declaration option.

  • then select the Submit button.

  • Verify that the data you entered is accurate.

  • Click the Confirm Registration option in the last step.


Step 2: Entry Option for Counselling

Students must fill out the information about their chosen institute's branches in the following stage. To register their selections, candidates should follow the instructions listed below:


  • Choose "Choice Available" from the menu.

  • Choose from Institute Type, Institute Name, and Academic Program or Course.

  • The "Choice Filling and Locking" option must be chosen next.

  • Candidates can choose the universities and programmes that best suit their interests.

  • Candidates should select as many colleges as they can to be assigned.

  • Candidates need to keep in mind that the filled selections should be arranged in decreasing order of preference.

  • Candidates can pick the "Choice Interchange" option to alter one of their previously chosen options.

  • The "Choice Rearrange" option must be selected in the following action.

  • Candidates must arrange their final selections in decreasing order of preference prior to submitting them.

  • Select "Save" from the menu.

  • The choices can be removed by a candidate if they so choose.

Before the cut-off, candidates must lock or save their selections. You can accomplish this by selecting "Lock Choice" from the menu. Candidates must keep in mind that once locked, decisions cannot be modified. For each succeeding round of JEE Main counselling, there is the option of choice locking.


Step 3: JEE Main Counselling Seat Allocation:


  • Candidates will receive an SMS or email letting them know the seats they have been assigned.

  • After completing the options, candidates should download the seat allotment letter.

  • Before allocating seats to applicants, JoSAA considers a number of variables. Which are: The classification a candidate falls under, such as General, OBC-NCL, ST, etc.

  • The All-India Rank (AIR) of a candidate in the JEE Main examination.

Step 4: Paying the JEE Main Counseling Fee

  • The acceptance fee must be paid by students prior to the start of the primary counselling procedure.

  • Candidates can conveniently pay their fees via SBI Net Banking or an e-Challan.

For students in the general category, the seat acceptance fee is INR 25,000. For students who fall under a reserved category, a seat acceptance fee of INR 15,000 is required. The candidates will be called to the reporting centre once they have finished these processes. To document verification, they must transport their paperwork to the reporting centre. In the colleges, they will be given temporary seats because of this procedure. A provisional admission letter will be given to the candidates once everything has been resolved.

Step 5: Reporting to the Designated Institution

To start the admissions process, candidates must report to the designated institute and bring the required paperwork.


Required Documents for JEE Main Counselling in 2022:

  • 3 most recent passport-size photos

  • The letter of seat assignment.

  • The seat allocation letter and evidence of fee payment

  • Any type of photo ID card

  • JEE Main Score Card

  • Documentation of Birthdate

  • Grade sheet for Class XII

  • Caste certificate (for reserved candidates)
